Invitation for April 6, 2013International Cafe @ Facebook
Dear International students,
Usually we have our monthly meeting on the last Saturday of the month, but because this time that falls in the Easter weekend we are doing our next meeting on April 6, as usual at the Hereweg 1 in Groningen, from 18:00 until 22:00 o’clock.
There will be be a simple meal, and because this time Aleyda from Honduras will be telling about her country, we will have some special food (including guacamole) to taste as well as the usual soup and bread, coffee and tea and home made cake.
We hope you will come to hear Aleyda and also to have a last salsa lesson from her before she finishes her PhD and returns home!
These evening are always free, but there is a box where, if you like, you can make a small contribution for the costs of rent and food. Please sign up for this meeting by Friday, April 5. We hope you can join us and bring your friends.
IMPORTANT: If you have signed up but for some reason are not able to come will you please let us know as soon as you can so that we know how much food will be needed!
Welcome! And bring your friends.
****And just so you don’t get confused, we will have another event on April 27, when we will celebrate the Dutch Koninginnedag! The last one:) because this year our queen is abdicating her throne to her son Willem-Alexander (on April 30) and we hope to tell you more about this at our meeting.****
Also, on Friday May 31 we hope to pay our yearly visit to the well-known Dutch artist Henk Helmantel. His wonderful home, garden and paintings are very worth seeing; don’t leave the Netherlands without going there! We will give more information about this in our next invitation.
Paul Nieboer, Hans and JoAnn van Seventer, Patty Scholma, Hinke van Abbema and Martin Geertsma
