International Café Evening

Our Cook

Invitation for March 31, 2012

It was good to see so many new guests at our last monthly meeting! And to meet old friends again! We would like to invite you all to our meeting of this month, to be held on March 31, as usual in the Navigators building at Hereweg 1 in Groningen.

The evenings begin at 18:00. After guests have been welcomed there will be a simple meal of soup and bread, followed by tea and coffee and cake. This meal is free. Coffee and tea are also free. We don’t serve alcohol at these meetings, but there are other drinks available at a small charge. There will also be a box where, if you are able, you can make a contribution for the costs of the location.

DUTCH HISTORY AND SALSA?

This month Hans van Seventer will give a short talk (not more than 15 minutes) on major events in the history of the Netherlands to make you more familiar with the country where you are now a guest. We would at future meetings like to ask some of you to share a bird’s eye view of the history of your own country so that we can also understand you better. This should be interesting and broadening for everyone (and a real challenge – try putting so much information into 15 minutes!)
We will also have our usual games; we now have a new shuffle board so that more people can participate.
And for those who still want to practice the salsa, Aleyda will be there to help us and can also teach us the meringue and bachata!

We really look forward to seeing you again! Bring along your friends. We hope you will also meet and enjoy new people you have not met before. Please do let us know if you are coming and if you will join us for the meal

If you have signed up but for some reason are not able to come will you please let us know as soon as you can so that we know how much food will be needed! And be assured that if you don’t come you will be missed!
