Invitation for Saturday, November 29
Sinter Klaas at Het Pand!International Cafe @ Facebook
Dear International students,
We have a special event coming on November 29, namely a typical Dutch Sinterklaas celebration! On this evening we will give some attention to a beloved Dutch saint – Sinterklaas. The Dutch celebrate the feast of Sinterklaas on December 5, a favorite day of children and a day of gifts for everyone.
This time we’d like to ask everyone to bring along:
- 1. One extra shoe or boot (besides the ones you are wearing).
- 2. A small gift costing no more than 3 euro’s. The gift should be suitable for anyone, male or female (you can also make the gift). Please wrap it.
- 3. If possible, a short poem of 2 or 4 lines in English (Example:“If you really like to eat, Open this and find a treat” or “Here is something just for you; Sint has put it in your shoe.”)
Our meetings are held on the last Saturday of each month in Het Pand, Madoerastraat 16 in Groningen, from 18:00 until 22:00 o’clock. A simple meal of soup and bread, coffee and tea and homemade cake is provided. (We always have a special soup for vegetarians.)
The evening is free (If you should wish to make a contribution there is a box present for that purpose)
We hope you can join us and bring your friends
IMPORTANT: If you have signed up but for some reason are not able to come will you please let us know as soon as you can so that we know how much food will be needed!
We hope to see you again, and your friends are very welcome!
Paul Nieboer, Hans and JoAnn van Seventer, Hinke van Abbema and Martin Geertsma
