International Café Evening

Invitation for November 30

International Cafe @ Facebook

Dear International students,

We have a special event coming on Saturday, November 30, namely a typical Dutch Sinterklaas celebration!
On this evening we will give some attention to a beloved Dutch saint – Sinterklaas. The Dutch celebrate the feast of Sinterklaas on December 5th. It is a favorite day of children and a day of gifts for everyone.

Preparations for Sinterklaas

This time we’d like to ask everyone to bring along:

  1. One extra shoe or boot (besides the ones you are wearing).
  2. A small gift costing no more than 3 euro’s. The gift should be suitable for anyone, male or female (you can also make the gift). Please wrap it.
  3. If possible, a short poem of 2 or 4 lines in English (Example: “If you really like to eat, Open this and find a treat” or “Here is something just for you; Sint has put it in your shoe.”)

We will celebrate Sinterklaas together and who knows: maybe Sint will pay a visit!

Our meetings

Our meetings are always held at the Hereweg 1 in Groningen, from 18:00 until 22:00 o’clock. A simple meal of soup and bread, coffee and tea and homemade cake is provided, and we usually begin with our meal at 18:30. (We always have a special soup for vegetarians.)

Signing up

The evening is free. Please sign up for this meeting by Friday, November 29th.
Use the form below or join the event through facebook.

We hope you can join us and invite your friends as well.

IMPORTANT: If you have signed up but for some reason are not able to come will you please let us know as soon as you can so that we know how much food will be needed!

Welcome! And invite your friends.
