Sailing in September

Our Cook

Invitation for September 14, 2013

International Cafe @ Facebook

Dear International students,

Sailing and water are very central in dutch history. We offer a special way to become closely acquainted with this aspect of dutch culture! Great fun, beautiful sport!
We need to know very soon how many people are coming, as we will have to reserve the correct number of boats and have to ask experienced sailors to take charge of each boat.

Sailing over the ocean, sailing over the sea….

Hans is organizing a sailing day on Saturday Septempber 14 for as many of our International Cafe friends (and their friends) as would like to join!
Date – Saturday September 14
Time – afternoon (12:30 to 17:00)
place – Paterswoldsemeer — reachable by bike, 20 to 30 minutes. (When you have signed up we will send you a map of how to come.) (Or take bus 6 to Corpus den Hoorn, leaving centraal station at 12.:02. Change to line 2, leaving at 12:13. Then get out at Meerweg in Paterswolde; Then walk to Jachthaven Zuidwesthoek.)

Cost – between 15 and 20 euros per person. Price includes rental of the boat and a life-vest for each person.
Registration will be official only as soon as you have paid the money needed for rental. As soon as we know who really wants to join we will give a bank number for you to make your deposit.

If you are interested let us know as soon as possible (facebook or the form below will do). Please pass this on to others who may be interested (we are sure we have missed some names!)

Warm greetings,

JoAnn and Hans van Seventer

PS – The boats are small open sailboats (Valk), each for about 5 people. We all sit on the floor of the boat. We will have an experienced sailor in each boat to instruct you in what to do. There will be no meal involved; just bring along your own snacks and drinks. Bring a warm jacket, and wear sneakers or shoes with a rubber sole. An extra pair of dry socks might also be a good idea.

AGENDA – September 28

This will be our first evening of the new season. More info will follow next week.

Location: Meerweg 247, Haren
